The Board Members and MCAC staff say 'Thank you' to all the wonderful
volunteers who supported our many events during 2004. You were superb! Your
commitment is very important us and deeply appreciated!
We kept very busy in 2004. The new Spring Bloom festival, a two-day event, was
introduced in March. Sugar Creek, another 2-day event, followed in July,
Margarita Nite in August and Holiday Treasures in November and December. In May,
All You Need Is Art showcased art works in downtown businesses and was repeated
during Art and Soul in September. Both events focused on various types of art,
talented local artists and the continuing expansion of downtown Bloomington as a
place to shop and to find just the right piece of art work for home and
business. May's Tour de Metro featured unique and beautiful homes in downtown
Bloomington, each decorated with a broad spectrum of artwork .
Approximately 215 people volunteered 745 hours to support the 2004 events and
they are listed on the reverse of this insert.
What does it take to be a volunteer? A little time, a little energy, and a
desire to have fun are the primary “qualifications”. We have a great group of
volunteers but, we could certainly use more. Any one can become a volunteer. You
don't need a membership, although we love new members! And, you can choose just
those certain events which hold a special interest for you. We try to keep the
scheduled volunteer time from 2 to 5 hours, depending upon the event. Requests
for volunteers is now made primarily through e-mail, but those without e-mail
will be contacted by phone.
If you have an interest in volunteering, complete the volunteer form and mail it
or deliver it to the Arts Center. Also, the MCAC website contains an electronic
version of the volunteer form - just complete it and submit it. Questions can be
directed to the Arts Center 309/829-0011. Our website is www.mcac.org
