School of Art Emerging Illinois Artists features works by MFA students currently enrolled in Illinois universities. The juror, Staci Boris, Associate Curator, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, selected 29 works by 24 artists for the exhibition, as well as the four award winners. The Juror’s Choice award ($500 plus a future solo exhibition in the MCAC’s Armstrong Gallery) was presented to Yasemin Kackar, Northern Illinois University. Three merit awards ($200 each) were presented to Angela Barker, Illinois State University, Dawn Roe, Illinois State University, and Terence Hannum, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
